Make Nana's Linens Your Own

We saw this look in a magazine - the concept of re-purposing antique doilies into one of a kind pieces of clothing was inspired by a California designer. I made this vest by piecing together remnants of antique lace doilies. It's a great way to breathe new life into those linens from Grandma's hope chest.

More than just underwear!

This weeks feature is on vintage slips. Sometimes conservative, sometimes daring, always beautiful, they're more than just underwear! A vintage camisole under a velvet blazer looks romantic and sophisticated, and a thicker, full slip paired with jeans looks quirky and daring. But more than that, they make great decorative items! Hang them in your bathroom or guest bedroom to give a blank wall a romantic and old-fashioned feel.

Planting More Than a Seed: Vintage Plant Stands Hold More Than Just Plants

This week we're featuring a pair of vintage metal plant stands. The reason we love these particular items is because of the multiple uses they have. When I first saw them, my first thought was candle holders. Another great use for when you're hosting company is to use them as drink holders, indoors or outdoors. And of course, we can't ignore how pretty they are when used for their original intention as plant holders. How would you use them?

Thinking Outside the Boxspring

Vintage sheets are so beautiful, it's a shame to see them hidden beneath bedspreads, closed behind bedroom doors. So bring them out! We love the idea of using a vintage top sheet as a tablecloth. You can also use them for small upholstery projects, and I've always been a fan of turning vintage sheets into vintage curtains!
